FAQ: Limited Edition Prints

Artwork:

What is a limited edition?

Editions offer an accessible way to build your art collection - and are relevant additions to budding and established collections alike. Limited editions are fine artworks - whether that’s a print, sculpture, or functional object - that are produced in a specific and restricted amount determined by the artist and the publisher. No additional artworks will ever be produced beyond the set edition number, which is why they remain valuable investment opportunities.

What is an archival pigment print?

An archival pigment print is a digital inkjet print printed with archival ink on archival paper. These museum-quality materials are guaranteed up to 90 years. An archival pigment print is not to be confused with a poster!

What is Hahnemühle German Etching Museum paper?

This heavyweight bright white, 100% α-cellulose paper guarantees archival standards. This mould-made etching paper features a distinct textured surface. With its premium matt inkjet coating, German Etching meets the highest industry standards regarding density, color gamut, color graduation and image sharpness while preserving the special touch and feel of genuine art paper.

How will my print be framed?

Your print will be framed floating with no matte. I find that the nuances of a work on paper are more visible without a matte. Floating allows the artwork to be the sole focus. Framing options vary for each piece. These options are listed on individual product pages.

What is a metal print?

Metal prints are a modern way to hang your purchased artwork without a frame and floating on the wall. The artwork is printed on aluminum panels using a dye-sublimation process and Epson dye-sublimation inks that infuse the work onto the surface. It really is a beautiful and unique option!

Is the artist involved in production?

Yes! I have worked tirelessly to find the very best printing partners to assure that your purchase of my work is of the highest quality and protected using archival materials.

How do I know that my edition is authentic?

With you purchase, you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) signed by the artist that includes the number of the edition and date produced.

I lost my Certificate of Authenticity. Can you provide me with a replacement?

Unfortunately, we cannot replace lost or damaged Certificates of Authenticity.

Do editions ever sell out?

Yes! Editions have been known to sell out immediately following launch. See the next answer about how to stay in the loop.

How do I get notified about edition launches?

The best way is to sign up for my mailing list below and follow my Instagram feed to stay updated on the latest artwork and limited edition prints available.

If I buy an edition, do I own the copyright?

No. The copyright is not transferred to the purchaser of the edition. The artist remains the sole owner of the copyright for each artwork.

SHIPPING

When will my order ship?

Production time varies by edition and the specifics of your order. For example, unframed prints typically ship within 7 business days, while framed prints typically ship within 2-4 weeks. Please note that our business hours are Monday through Friday. Orders are not processed or shipped on Saturday or Sunday.

How will my order be packaged?

Unframed prints are wrapped in archival wrapping. Based on dimensions and medium, they either ship flat or in a cardboard tube. Framed prints are encased within paper/bubble wrap and cushioned with cardboard corners. In either case, your new artwork is a piece of fine art! Please take extra care when removing your print from its wrapping!

How much does shipping cost?

Cost depends on the shipping method, dimensions, and weight of your new artwork, as well as the ship-to destination. All hand-finished and original work ships insured. We ship via FedEx unless otherwise noted on the artwork listing. All shipping costs can be calculated prior to checkout before confirming your order.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally via FedEx. International orders are subject to customs duties, which are set by the government of the destination country. All applicable customs fees, taxes, and duties are the sole responsibility of the customer; these fees are due upon arrival and are in addition to the cost of artwork and shipping and handling. We cannot discount customs duties or reimburse you for these costs.

How do you declare goods for international orders?

Depending on the nature of the piece, we declare all shipments as limited edition artwork or original artwork at the price of the work being shipped. We cannot mark your shipment as a gift.

RETURN/CANCELLATION POLICY:

What is your return policy?

My general policy is that I do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges. If your print arrives damaged or flawed, you may be eligible for a replacement or return. Issues must be reported within 5 business days of receiving your order by emailing lkellart@gmail.com with images of the damage. All returns must be in perfect condition in their original packaging, and accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity. Framed orders are non-refundable as each work is custom framed to order.

Can I cancel or make adjustments to my order?

If you change your mind after placing your order, please email us at lkellart@gmail.com. All requests for cancellations and/or adjustments must be made within 24 hours after the order was placed. After this time period, your frame will already be in production; and unframed print order is being processed by our fulfillment center.
