Drawing Practice:

Drawing is an early morning ritual for me.  It allows for the exploration of form, real or imagined, and sharpens my skills of observation.  Typically, I work in a series, focusing on one subject matter for several months, if not longer.

My drawings are constructions of the imagination informed by decay and the patina of age. Layers of ink are built up on the paper’s surface till a structure with dimension is established. Drawing enables me to become lost in the process of making, without thought or concern.  It is an essential daily practice that acts as a sieve, fleshing out what is most important.
